Perched atop the Fuji TV building in Odaiba, the Hachitama Observation Deck offers visitors a unique 270-degree view of Tokyo’s waterfront. This titanium-clad sphere is a prominent feature of the Tokyo skyline and reflects the modern architecture of the district.

About Fuji TV Hachitama Observation Deck

The Hachitama Observation Deck, affectionately known as “Hachitama,” is a cultural and architectural landmark within the Fuji TV Headquarters. Occupying the 25th floor, the deck showcases the Odaiba district’s modern character. Constructed in 1996, the building has become an integral part of the area’s identity.

The sphere, 32 meters in diameter, is an observation point and a functional space that houses broadcasting facilities and studio capabilities. Its titanium surface, composed of 3200 panels, safeguards against corrosion. Following its revitalization in June 2007, the Hachitama has been a popular spot for capturing Tokyo’s urban landscape.

Visitors are treated to a sweeping 270-degree view, with sights like the Rainbow Bridge and potentially Mt. Fuji on clear days. As the city lights up at night, the deck offers an enchanting view of Tokyo Bay.

The Hachitama Shop within the sphere offers Hachitama-specific merchandise and character goods from Fuji TV programs. An elevator connects the observatory to the building’s rooftop garden, adding a natural element to the urban experience.

The Hachitama Observation Deck is also an interactive space where guests can engage with mock television cameras and explore news and talk show sets. Displays featuring anime characters from shows such as Dragon Ball and One Piece add cultural relevance and depth to the Fuji TV brand.

Beyond the observation deck, the Fuji TV Gallery on the 5th floor and the Fuji TV Shop on the 7th floor provide further insight into Japanese television and pop culture.

The Hachitama Observation Deck is a cultural hub that encapsulates the innovative spirit of Tokyo, offering a landmark experience and a comprehensive view of the city.
